Grant Imahara inducted into the 501st Legion at Wondercon while dressed as the Tenth Doctor

In honour of our last post regarding Grant and his Doctor Who fan-isms!
The child laughing nearly maniacally in the background always gets me.

The Tenth Doctor and Rose in Volume 2 of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic

Another one of those too-good-to-be-true cameos, in my opinion. Then again, Anthony Stewart Head— better known in Buffy as the beloved Rupert Giles— also played the creepy Krillitane principal in the Series 2 episode School Reunion! But this isn’t the only Who reference in Buffy: creator Joss Whedon (shout out to all you Whedonites out there!) admires Russell T. Davies’ work, and the connections between Buffy and Doctor Who are numerous. So stay tuned, Whedon fans!

Grant Imahara as the Tenth Doctor

For those of you who don’t already know: Mythbusters’ Grant Imahara is a big Doctor Who fan. So big, in fact, that he’s decked himself out in Tenth Doctor gear on more than one occasion!

His hobbies also include tweeting about his Doctor Who merchandise and, I should hope, lobbying his fellow ‘Busters toward producing a Who-related episode. Who here wouldn’t want to see that?

I think I’m going to be publishing two posts a day for now; the quantity of queued up posts I have at the moment should last me for the week until I have more.

Again, guys, don’t be afraid to submit!

“Haven’t you had your fill of interesting events?”

“Never. They’re the spice of life.” She held up her half-finished hat. “How do you like it?”

“It’s nice. The blue is pretty. But what do the runes say?”

“Raxacori—Oh, never mind. It wouldn’t mean anything to you anyway.”

For all you ’90s kids out there…

Remember The Rugrats?

Well, turns out its creators may have been Doctor Who fans! Spot anything amiss?

This little Easter Egg has actually drawn quite a bit of attention in recent years. In fact, the majority of fans of both shows seem to think Tommy Pickles is actually based off of the Doctor— or at least, they do draw quite a few similarities. The screwdriver, the action-packed adventures, the mass amounts of trouble he seems to get himself in, the ginger sidekick… doesn’t seem too far off, does it?

And if that doesn’t convince you, there’s always the bowtie.

So, what do you think? Is Tommy a Time Lord in disguise? The world may never know.

Hello!

And welcome to Doctor Who in Places it Shouldn’t Be

As a Doctor Who fan, you’ve probably heard of the fantastic blog David Tennant in Places He Shouldn’t Be… well, this is sort of like that, only based around the show itself. Basically, this is a blog for any and all references to Doctor Who— blatant or obscure, purposeful or accidental— in movies, television shows, photos, books, and the media in general.

You know, in places it shouldn’t be. Get it?

Great! Now we can start! The submission button can be found to the left, should you want to add to the blog’s collection. I’d really appreciate it!

Allons-y!
